Headteacher Update is a magazine, website, podcast and regular ebulletin dedicated to the primary school leadership team. This edition was sent free of charge to primary schools across the country in May 2025. Training and development can help staff support their own needs and those of their pupils. Offering anonymity can help ensure honest feedback and giving the survey to staff at a convenient time (e.g. staff meetings) may boost response rates. Some might find it helpful to create a wellbeing plan to help them decide how they’re going to look after themselves throughout the summer. Recognition should be timely, specific, and tailored to individuals, ranging from public acknowledgments and celebrations in newsletters to personal thank you notes. This should include targeted options and support for everyone, such as reflective Battle over school mental health and SEL practice and supervision.
This includes the rollout of our Statewide OHS Services for schools and Employee Mental Health Reform programs. We’ve delivered expert advice and hands on support, with varied levels of engagement. We’ve streamlined OHS processes, reduced administrative burden, improved compliance and reporting across schools. An external evaluator reviewed the impact of our strategy, a 5-year plan to improve health, safety and wellbeing for staff. Mentally healthy workplaces contribute to the mental health of their staff.
